Currently Listening To...Imminent Sonic Destruction!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Caught her opening for Social Distortion last night. Excellent - great back-up band too.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

HOLLYWOOD BRATS - HOLLYWOOD BRATS

Probably not the greatest album ever to be released but it has a certain charm

Also there is a picture of the Brats' lead singer on the artwork of Marionette's only LP so it doesn't need much more recommendation than that.

Not the whole thing, though - they've only released tracks 2, 3, 5, and 10 so far. But I'm liking it a lot.

Can you explain the appeal of DiJ, radiojamaica? I've heard a little (best of, I think), but they've never done anything for me...

Indeed! Always takes me back to the times when MTV ruled tv land and they aired that legendary live session of Spiritualized at night with classics like Angel Sigh & Medication... Now that was a VHS tape me and my brother have played to death 8) :notworthy:

one of the very best albums ever IMO
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Wow, I'd never even seen that before! I saw them for the first time that summer. There were only about 30 people there and we all sat cross legged on the floor and let the loudness blow us away :notworthy: 8)

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I know what you mean but .... I really really like The Lords Prayer these days. Sure it's thuggish, but it's just such a joyfully wanton act of destruction you gotta smile. There are also similarities to a certain other band's Sister Ray/Ghost Rider/Louie Louie medleys. Worth a re-listen I reckon.
