Wayne on FALAA, Eldritch and stuff

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

216 comments over on The m*****n FB page but very little speculation about who the iconic person is, although Dave Grohl was suggested.
My favourite comment was when one particularly sycophantic fan had ended a lengthy eulogy on the subject of Wayne's axe work with the words, "Wayne -PLAY MORE GUITAR", to which one wag had replied, "Just don't write any lyrics." :notworthy:

Definitely not Dave Grohl. Wayne is no fan of the Foo Fighters.

This is starting to feel like a musical version of Mornington Crescent. Shaft!

Thought you might be, but felt it was important to mock just in case.

only two versions of KOHD beat the one played in RAH.
the one from strawberry studio sessions (kinda obvious)
the one he played with skeletal family and andrew the last time they ever shared a stage few months after RAH.

Patti Smith is maybe not that far fetched as Wayne is friends/friendly with Lenny Kaye..... he jammed on stage with The Mish on their first tour & Wayne is definitely a big Patti Smith fan & the Mish covered Dancing Barefoot.

Chrissie Hynde was another of my guesses.
Give me one good reason

Lenny Kaye played with the m*****n in 1986? Where was this? I remember Speedy Keen at Reading!

Not at all. You offered your personal preference & (after rushing off to revisit both versions, neither of which are too shabby btw) & I simply disagreed :)
Can't offer much more if I honestly think RAH version was the best one.
Wayne, in his farcebook post, obviously thinks it was & maybe that's because he was given a chance to shine without having layers of other sounds woven in on top of him.
Cheers.
