Not quite true Ben played with CTT in 2008 on a couple of gigs so knows Christian from then, he went to Bristol Uni in 2000 so I doubt they have been friends since the last 80's as Ben would have been about 5!Mav787 wrote:Ben was there with Christian Riou who was the singer in Claytown Troupe. They've been friends since the late '80s in Bristol.
I was told that when Ben was 15 he was such a good guitarist that he would have played in CTT except he was too young to go on tour.

Just avidly read my copy of VLR. Great John Lydon interview, fantastic KJ interview...really disappointing AE interview. Article is mainly a (well-written but factually inaccurate) history of the band with the odd Von quote. My favourite line : "For a man that wears a big clock round his neck, I have to say that Flavor Flav is a notoriously bad time-keeper." Rock'n'roll !

Yes, I did find it rather sparse with regards to actual "interview" - it was like a 2-minute elevator/lift conversation interspersed with large chunks of the Sisters' wikipedia page.Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:Just avidly read my copy of VLR. Not a whole lot of opening up - other than the poodle and "island of of Africa". Neither which was named.
My life is one long week of stupid clothing benders.

Poodle - I lost all respect that I had to that guy.
I think the dog rather belongs to his girlfriend.Bartek wrote:Poodle - I lost all respect that I had to that guy.

Bit f**ked-off seeing as I'm a subscriber and haven't received my copy, yet
Four strings good, six strings bad
I gave up subscribing to VLR after 2 successive years when they didn't tell me my subscription had finished and I missed an issue because I just assumed it was late.Norman Hunter wrote:Bit f**ked-off seeing as I'm a subscriber and haven't received my copy, yet

Snap - though I managed to re-subscribe. I think I'll give it a miss next time, though - it's an expensive luxury given the extra mouth that now needs fed at Chez Hunter.Mav787 wrote:I gave up subscribing to VLR after 2 successive years when they didn't tell me my subscription had finished and I missed an issue because I just assumed it was late.

Funny, this is the second time Christian / Claytown Troupe have cropped up on my radar over the past couple of weeks.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

I would have guessed at Madeira, the Canary Islands, or Cape Verde (or the Seychelles, if it's off the east coast). Not that I particularly care, but...euphoria wrote:Thanks a lot Panzerfaust!
I guess the island off Africa's coast must be Zanzibar. Somehow hard to imagine lazing on the beach with girlfriend + poodle
Well, this is Sisters News 2015, and if it's between discussing the island or the poodle, I know what I picklazarus corporation wrote:I would have guessed at Madeira, the Canary Islands, or Cape Verde (or the Seychelles, if it's off the east coast). an island off the coast sounds like it's quite close to the coast, which Zanzibar is. Ok you're right, it's not exciting enough
