BBC Greatest band t shirt

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

What idiot picked a bootleg shirt? There's an official image on the official merchandise site.

Maybe because the t-shirt with 1985 on isn't the true iconic version?

I'd say the M R version was the iconic one or the 1984 one.

Thank you for voting.
To find out the results, listen to the final hour of Steve's show on T-Shirt Day on the 27th November, culminating in the announcement of the All-Time No 1 band T-shirt, as decided by 6 Music’s listeners.

I might get it all wrong, but if it wants me to vote via faresbook and/or by any other spam-producing ruote, I'll say: no to vote.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

The Pistols one would get my vote. Most of them are pretty iconic and look ace - especially Motorhead, Unknown Pleasures and, of course, the Sisters one. The controversy and offence (bizarre to think now, I know) caused by the GSTQ one would tip it for me.

Most of these are just album covers or band logos - there's little, if anything, that's uniquely a t-shirt design. It might as well be greatest album cover (again) or greatest logo. And it's a fairly conservative and unimaginative selection. They could have gone for some tour-specific shirts, or some of the many others that were t-shirt designs in their own right. I think that would have been a more interesting poll.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

I remember Ned's Atomic Dustbin used to do some great designs for their T shirts every tour.
