No, just like all the other Linux dorks, Von's too busy fiddling with his kernel to even update his website, much less make new music or have any kind of social life.Alex66 wrote:Good point.sultan2075 wrote:Output?Alex66 wrote:Its good Von has interests outside rock and roll, it makes for a more interesting output in my humble opinion.
There was some once, though we were all young then and many oceans have gone under the multitude of bridges. I can vaguely remember the lead u to Vision Thing. Will we get another album before the ice caps melt and that water flows under the briges?
E.g. he can't get the drivers for any of his preamps to work, for some reason they're only outputting 16/44 and of course he won't stand for that, when the specs clearly say 24/96 and "Linux support".
Also, there has been a weird issue with packet compression not working to full spec on his router, but that should be easy enough to fix. There are some great experimental utilities available for that, just compile and man. Always friendly and useful in depth discussion over on linuxforums.org.uk, who needs commercial OSs?!
This has been going on since the release of (We Are The Same) Suzanne (which was compressed using a private beta of SoX).
Every 10 years or so the SoM website gets so retro it looks almost modern, and just when the kernel and the OS installation has been made to work perfectly, with surgical precision, it's time to upgrade. Rinse and repeat.
It's Linus Torvald's fault that we will never, ever have a new Sisters album.
