Of course it's not charity. But from perspective of country where people see that money from EU are using to do something for benefit of everyone, it's good. Of course also there are some issues that need to be changed; too many people made their small fortunes on this, in not really good way.
But when we're talking about money for politicians and administration of EU - isn't that can be see in national policy (members of national parliments, members of governments), they are setting rule about money that goes to their pockets.
I'm gonna repeat: EU is not free from issues that should be changed, yet leaving it by UK may help to destroy whole great idea of united Europe. Europe that learned their lessons from history.
On the other hand, UK has certain reputation, made through the centuries, about their loyalty to treaties they signed.
Brexit?

Dig up in history information about fulfilling defense treaties by UK.
Example: I'm just ending reading biography of Frederick The Great; UK wasn't even keen to declare war during Prussian war.

You mean the alliance between 1756 and 1762, i suppose.Bartek wrote:Dig up in history information about fulfilling defense treaties by UK.

Yup, i forgot to add that. However, and to meet truth, they tried to did their job at the begining, but not during later war.

Can you explain this further? I do not understand what you are trying to say of Prussia's only ally.
Well you must know something

by no means am i or probably anybody else in the Remain camp saying EU is perfect. of course there are things that need to be reformed, overhauled or just plain gotten rid of. but the uk cannot help work towards a better EU from outside of it. and we can choose to leave at any time, whereas once we've left the door is shut forever. one way points forwards one points back with no return. no brainer.

If Britain votes "remain", then this will be interpreted as a confirmation of the status quo.eastmidswhizzkid wrote:of course there are things that need to be reformed, overhauled or just plain gotten rid of.

EU referendum 'on the day' poll:
Remain: 52%
Leave: 48%
(via YouGov)
Not an exit poll.
Squeeky bum time.
I think the margin of error is usually +/-3%

Farage says he thinks Remain has "edged it" - maybe the only time in history that anyone has ever said this, but...

I despair of my countrymen, maybe the 'rumoured rubbers, should have been used more effectively over the past few generations 😞
....if I have to explain, then you'll never understand....
So, it's it?
I'm a outsider, so please correct me if i'm wrong guys.
But this was a very dark day on the world history, as far as i can see, that will trigger some complicated side-effects, specially after seeing how every single scottish bloke voted for Stay, which it's basically an undeclared vote for 'Leave the UK', and there's also the risk of an possible reunification of Ireland, and of course, on the top of that, there's also the economical issues (Pound being undervalued, maybe even a boycott from the Euro zone?), that can trigger an general reaction on other EU contries.
Also, i've heard that the weather wasn't any good today, so many people decide to skip the voting, you guys think that the results could be any different based simply on the weather?

A dark day. The future is suddenly much bleaker. People are afraid in Northern Ireland. Sigh. :-(

SNP already prepping for another Independence referendum. It'll take this time.
Sinn Fein calling for Irish unification.
The Union is done.

You believe that Irish unification can be done because of the referandum result ?
And Scotish independence voting again ?
