GW1: Deadline 11:30 Saturday 13th August

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So here we go again but this time with 11 new managers in the form of Blood Brothers & Sisters (BB&S) coming to try to take IGM's crown away and carry it off to m*****n land.

Please take note that the weekly deadline will be 15 minutes earlier each week due to Saturday lunch time premier league matches kicking off at 12:30pm.

This week is the most interesting time of the season as we all chop and change our squads looking for that £5.0m bargain who performs like Mahrez or Vardy.

It feels like a long time since the end of last season and Saturday can't come soon enough.

Good luck everyone for the season ahead.

I suspect there will be a flurry of transfers in the next 72 hours.
I am constantly refreshing the team page.
Cheers.

i'm quite happy with my team. ok, apart from daniels i've never heard of any of my defenders but tbh i was that out of touch with football until i started playing this that i hadnt heard of many players beyond the obvious few. my midfield and attack are full of talent and i even managed to have enough faith in klopp to include a couple of liverpool players. bring it ON...

My lot have been pretty stable since I picked them.
But now, 2 days before the off, I have a doubtful defender :|
Cheers.

I've changed my entire squad about 7 times

Quick question, how many times per season can you play those Bench Boost, Ultra-Captain and 'the other one' perks? Is it once and that's yer lot?

Roll on Saturday, Get Ya Ibra's Out! Face it he's gonna score and assist a s**t storm of goals for the Shirts, and points for us lot.

Oh and another quick question - substitutes. You can't sub mid-game can you? As I understand it, if one of your 11 breaks a nail in the warm-up, the computer will replace him/her with someone off your subs bench. All automatic, no human interaction required. Is that right? There's nothing else you can do with subs is there? Cheers for clearing this up for me :D

Yep. Just the once each. Same as last season :)
Wold card gets 2 outings though.
Cheers.

Once ALL SEASON???? Blimey that's a bit frugal. Cheers Steve. Truth be told I only noticed them at all towards the end of last season, and promptly broke the 100 point barrier for the first time thereafter, although it was that week when everyone you'd expect to score hat-tricks as captain scored hat-tricks as captain, so everyone had 100+ points. Still, it made me happy.

Wold card. Hmm are you sure you're not confusing this with Fantasy Favourite Countryside Locations League?

Aye, especially those responsible for working out the scores in the three-way weekly battle!

yes its automatic, but they only get subbed if they dont play at all in the match. there's no substitution for players injured/replaced mid-game.

Cheers Lee :D I'm generally working weekends and miss at least some matches live, so was wondering if I was missing out on a point-accruing possibility, which was my concern with the perks too. So as things stand that's both excuses for my generally low scores out the window, must simply be the cloggers I pick.

Does anyone fancy pitting their wits against the likes of Phil Neville, Ian Wright, Alan Shearer, Matt Holland, Don Hutchison, Leroy Rosenior and James Richardson?

If so, league code: 1026802-268538 is your friend.

You're welcome. :von:

Just a shame that bellend Danny Mills isn't in. But his knowledge of footy is scant I guess ;)

Had a result already today.
My cable company's just added a new channel showing the premier league games.
No need to scoot over to the pub & bicker with the handball fans now :D
Cheers.

I wonder if the fantasy football site being down this morning caught a few people out. My opponent in the H2H has Aguero as his last sub :D

There's something odd with the site (for me anyway).
Last season, after the game week started, we could see everyone else's teams in the classic league.
Can't see anyone's team unless I go to the H2H list.
On the app, I can see the teams just fine though. :?
Cheers.

the only good thing bout the new site is it keeps you logged in. anyway, a middling start to it all: 25 points so far with 5 players to play. no more than 2 points a player with the exception of mahrez on 16 points as captain. nice to know he's still as good value as last season.
