Fantasy Premier League 2016/17

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Just under week until the new premier league season kicks off & pre-season fixtures have been giving us all a taste of what to expect from newbies & oldies alike.
The summer has also seen some big managerial changes with Pep now sailing the City ship (careful how you say that), Koeman peddling toffees & the return of The Spacial One, who, even before the season’s begun, has been facing calls to be jailed for ignoring Bastian Schweinsteiger as he prep’s Ruggy’s red devils for the off.

Now Big Sam’s powerpoint skills are good enough, he’s been seconded to the England post, allowing the return of Moyes to the premier league following his unparalleled success in Spain last season. ;)

So the scene is set. Gary Lineker has washed his best pants for match of the day & Leicester will begin their defence of the title this coming weekend.

In the FPL, some new faces too, as the Eleven Imaginary Boys welcome @gongoro73’s Throw Your Foot FC who make their debut this season.

No changes this term for the IGM, but the biggest change for this season is the inclusion of the Blood Brothers & Sisters who’s 11 strong band of Eskimos set out on a m*****n (see what I did there) for world domination *insert maniacal laugh here*.

BB&S currently reside on their facebook group. It’s a closed group, so if any of you would like to join & meet your opponents & even strike up new friendships, drop a PM to me (mav787) and i'll arrange access :)

& as always, we’re happy to welcome the BB&S to the forum to join in the GW chat & general nonsense :)

GW threads will still alternate between TheCureCommunity & MyHeartland for those who don’t want to sell their souls to The Zuck. :)

In a hark back to our goth glory days (& a 20 character limit), the new, extended league has taken on the moniker “The Big Hair League .

So, brush up your boots, tighten your studs, slice your half time oranges & don’t forget the pies.

Let’s meet the teams

A warm welcome to the Blood Brothers & Sisters.
Over at TCC we even acknowledge Wayne as being a former member of The Cure

My pencils are sharpened & the shed has a new roof (insurance job...ahem...)
Cheers.

there's nothing to rival a bit of rivalry! (personally i'd have called the new team the "crystal ocean's eleven" lol) so long as they realise that asssuming the missionary position wont stop them getting f**ked up the ass deliverance style! (as well as in the lady-garden of delights.) :von:

**fat bob let the gargoyle play for the cure? mind you, by law of averages EVERYBODY sooner or later gets to be in the cure... :P

EDIT: when i posted this i hadnt noticed that one of their teams is actually called "crystal ocean's eleven" lol.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Looks like Hull are going to have an interesting start to the season then.
No manager & 13 fit players in their squad.
I might get in there while the prices are good :innocent:
Cheers.

Just downloaded the app on my phone....I'm hoping that may make life easier for making last minute changes this season. :)

I installed it too. Seems to have better reviews than last year's.
But it's not displaying the H2H league.
Cheers.

I can see the H2H leagues on the IOS app.

Beware that I had an issue with caching where i'd viewed my team on the app, subsequently made some transfers on the website, and then viewed my team a day later. It displayed my squad before the transfers. Took a bit of jigging before it would display my latest team.

Might be a refresh interval, but the android app (currently) only shows public & classic private leagues.
The McFIFA one took a while to fully straighten out, so I'll wait a bit & see
Cheers.
