Newsworthy continued: EEEEEEEENINp'ts!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Oh, deer dog. Cat fights are hilarious but extremely loud, louder than Swans and Motorhead gigs.

Free zoo entry is pretty positive isn't it?

Seriously, kids, thank your lucky stars EVERY FVCKING DAY that you don't live in this perverse, hateful c(o)untry. OMFG, I'm beside myself.

Incidentally, I haven't been able to work for over a year because of the side effects from last year's chemotherapy. I've applied for disability benefits twice now and been denied both times. I was forced to resign my former (sh1tless) position at a local casino because, as a "tribal" entity, the casino's exempt from state labor laws. I may be enlisting the help of an attorney in the near future. Dunno wtf else to do.

There is NO HELP for folks here. Perhaps we'll survive our diseases–but we'll lose our cars, homes, and everything we own in the process...

Having failed to capitalise on the Tory malaise following the EU referendum, the Labour party continues to make further efforts to alienate its supporters:

So, what with several years of an un-elected P.M. to look forward to, plus what's fast becoming an un-electable opposition ...

Signals from outer space like in that film where they make contact with Jodie Foster and she fucks off for 18 hours but she's really only gone 30 seconds and her seat doesn't work.

The really depressing bit about all of this is that when we finally decode the signal, we'll find that it is pictures of cats with poorly-spelled captions, "beat 17-horned mega-cockroaches with this one weird trick", and alien selfies. Oh, and bros. Lots and lots of bros.

A genuine astronomer says probably not: "No, We Almost Certainly Did Not Detect an Alien Signal"

Interesting article, but I cannot stop reading this bold phrase over and over again:
But the signal detected was the only signal detected. Only the one beep was seen, and despite SETI telescopes looking again and more carefully at the star, no other signal has been found. That seems like an odd course of action for aliens.
It worries me a bit that a real scientist makes such assumptions without, naturally, having a clue about alien actions in the first place. Or...does he? *X files theme playing* :innocent:

I think it's fairly clear - the single beep was an alien's Nokia phone informing him that he had a text message. However, since he was having dinner with the inlaws (and her mother's never thought that he was good enough) he got some glowering looks, so he switched the phone to silent - and this is why there hasn't been another signal.

The detection came around the time the Star Wars VII trailer broke didn't it?

It could have been millions of nerds suddenly screaming out in excitement, before they were suddenly silenced.

I'm fully with you in your rage. It's just disgusting how people are treated and seen as nothing but a cost factor and a squeezable lifestock,
not only in the US (although that is for sure one of the worst and most disgusting places in the world) with all the wealth existing there at the same time.
Unfortunately, it's more or less the same worldwide - the less you have, the more pressure you receive and the less you get in return for your effort.
This sickening approach inherent to human's appreciation of their own species is more or less singular in the animal world except for those other disgusting apes.
And it prevails. Test them on EQ and what the f**k. I see no a chance for a change, if not a profit is waving at the end of the tunnel, which in turn were only a
confirmation of the concept again. No wonder, these creatures are preaching religions of poverty, suffering, selflessness, death and unprovable heavens, hells
or rebirths to their masses ... what a waste of life, of love, of capacities, of chances, of diversity and of humanity's future as a whole.
I've long reached the realms of boredom about that species (each time I manage to successfully ignore the rage and disgust and pain about it for a while again).
And I really don't understand how comes that I'm actually one of them. Something must have gone very wrong with me.

I wish you all the very best.
