Interesting interview - many thanks for posting
I especially like the bit where "the crowd regenerate themselves" - I suppose that explains why there is no need for new songs.
The audience change but the set-list remains the same

a bit more kickstarter-flavoured carrot-dangling regarding The Next One....and you could tell he was having a wicked time at Rock City.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Great summary of the project "The Sisters of Mercy" the last decades;
It has sometimes been suggested by some fans to boycott the gigs in order to get new material. Cynical thinking, but could obviously work.When you put it like that it's completely understandable that there wouldn't be any real desire to release new music.
The upside is it would undeniably help us to sell more tickets, but frankly the way things have been going for us in recent times, we don't really need to sell more tickets. We are a bit spoilt really. Don't get me wrong I know how lucky and privileged a position that is to be in, but it's nevertheless a fact.
