I'd suggest the Kindle version if you have one - apparently the print version is printed in tiny type on thin paper like a cheap bible.

Set the Boy Free by Johnny Marr.

Only a hundred or so pages in but looks like he was handed success on a plate. A lot of name dropping and the Sisters get a very quick and +ve mention.

Dim memory here, and even Sisters and literature-related.

I seem to remember reading an interview with Andrew once (Maybe 1989?) and he recommended a book, which I found and read.

It was about a boy being raised in the south in America, largely by a nanny. He eventually killed his mother. I'm struggling to remember the name of that book. I think it was similar to "Left Behind", which is unfortunate because of the amount of s**t you get when you google anything that remotely resembles "Left Behind" and "book"... I seem to remember being horrified at the theft of a decent book's name at the time, as well.

Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Currently reading a biography about the Count of St.Germain, one of the most enigmatic and interesting persons of the 18th century. I love the 18th century for its ambiguity of cultures anyway. Costumed machines that we are.

An inadvertently ecclectic mix of early 20th century girls fiction, Satanism, and Victorian melodrama. The latter is the only surprising one. I loathe Wilkie Collins with a passion. I can only put my reading of this work down to some sort of literary masochism.

Hello all: I have a goofy request. Does anyone know of any punk or goth novels? More specifically, novels in which the characters are punks or goths? In the vein of Jennifer Egan's A Visit From the Goon Squad. And hopefully not American. My searches keep turning up photo books and oral histories and teen fiction. Recommendations would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Metamorphosis or The Golden Ass by Lucius APULEIUS (c. 125 - 180)
have only around 20 pages or so to finish
It was awesome reading and discover things that had influence during the medieval era and can find clues up to late 1800's. Especially renaissance artists used that book's storylines for many classic works.
