THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.
mine has to be the dodgy, ropey, seven minute recording I have on casette of Von, patsy and Andreas Bruhn doing 'Vision Thing'.
Half the lyrics aren't there, presumably as they hadn't been fully written yet (at one point Von just keeps saying 'Vision Thing' 16 times over! There are also more of the 'sha-la-la-la' bits)
The quality sounds like it was recorded on a cheap, old school cassette recorder, there is also much incoherent mumbling from the three at the start of the song (You can tell Patsy's there as there is definately a woman's voice, as she warms up by strumming her bass)
Interestingly, at the end of the song, Von screams "Incoming", as he did on the end of 'Ribbons'; perhaps the word was originally meant to be part of the lyrics for 'Vision Thing'.
Got it off a mate who was given it by some sound engineer or something, all it says on the tape (handwritten!) is 'VISION THING DEMO HAMBURG 1989'

Wow!! This is really rare!!!
Patsy playing her bass?
I doubt it.
Good joke though.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
I have Eldritches towel that he was handed after coming off stage at the Top Rank Club in Plymouth in 1984, I also have 2 flyers for that gig and a Poster dor Exeter 30-10-84
A DAT recording of sessions for the next album, entitled Exiled on the Mainline. Songs 6 and 8 are f**king awesome. Chris Starling has done himself proud. And I really like the way Adam has dirtied up the guitars on Crash and Burn, got to be a top 5 hit across Europe again.
Yeah, yeah, I wish.
Chris
