Gary's departure is the subject of the latest post on my TSOM blog, drawing on some fairly rare fanzine and audio interview resources from that Spring.

Really a nice photo of Gary ... ...
Should be interesting to read the full Artificial Life article ...
Beyond that, I'm not exactly fond of the lengthy introductory m*****n promo making about a third of that new post, but hell, to who it may concern ... ...

Unfortunately there are at least two sides to every story and being of sufficient age and the then locality I might be aware of more than most. Stress, circumstance and fuel took it's toll on ALL parties.
We should all celebrate what happened post 1985. The girls, the Mish and Ghost Dance all made tunes we could swing our respective arses to.

Couldn't agree more on the multi-faceted nature of the split, contrary to how it is normally presented. I don't think there are many people who don't enjoy some of what has been produced at times since 1985.Swinnow wrote:Unfortunately there are at least two sides to every story and being of sufficient age and the then locality I might be aware of more than most. @Being Surely the Gigography would be the best place. There are early gigs listed for which there is far flimsier evidence.

Well, as we all know, it's ME who is guilty for all that and every other bad that ever happened to The Sisters and HL in particular before and after 1985, anyway ... * I'm still pissed, but with time ...Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:Couldn't agree more on the multi-faceted nature of the split, contrary to how it is normally presented. Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Good piece. I think there was also, at one time, a notion that the other three get shut of Eldritch and carry on without him.
Thanks to Pontiac Detroit and the citizens of Wakefield

A very interesting read again and with some really new aspects!!! ... ... (of course, I've all linked it accordingly) ... ...
Oh yes, and the "Mexico" quote ... exactly ... good, that it has come up again ... we all know it, but the recently revealed old interviews somehow confused the impression, IMHO ... ...
Thanks for the mention as well. I'm glad, somebody bought that fanzine. Also for the links to poison-door-net and The Ultimate Sisters Guide, both of which have also been major resources for the SistersWiki all the time.
BTW, do I dectect a gig missing in the SistersWiki gigography there ... ...

So, after investigations, after years, digging through intervews we found ourself in a comfortable postionion that we don't know for sure what we the real reason to split. Still.
Altough i still blame
But if there was no split-up, quarrels and bickerings we wouldn't get Floodland. And that would be huge loss.
Anyhow, thanks Nikolas Vitus Lagartija for great work

Good idea let's celebrate! Some of you look like you've swallowed a dictionary for breakfast. Loved "Ghost dance " never quite fully understood what Ghost dance the word means?

the ghost dance is a later native american belief that through the correct execution of said dance wiould bring the living into contact with the spirits of the dead and enable the dead to fight for the living against the white man. and it's a dead-goff sounding name innit?

I thought your original comment was referring to the Boston 85 gig which is also still missing from the Wiki.Being645 wrote:... adjusted.Being645 wrote:BTW, do I dectect a gig missing in the SistersWiki gigography there ... ...
Anyhow, the final (for now) post of the series (of four) on the 1985 split is now up on my TSOM blog, in which I reach a conclusion (my personal view only of course) on who was to blame for what happened.

Well, I never knew there was a plan for a second RAH gig. We knew the original night was nowhere near sold out because we only decided to head down the length of the M1 to that London at the last minute and found that it was really easy to get tickets.
I can remember my mates commenting at the £5 tickets being bloody London prices.
