Whilst perusing UTR August 1992 this morning I came across this
"Vision Thing is a much more stripped down affair. Half of the finished mixes are shelved in favour of rough mixes from earlier in the recording sessions:"monitor mixes" which retain the immediate feel of the songs"
Do we know which songs where replaced with the "rougher" versions and are the originals available anywhere?
Vision Thing Original mixes?
As far as I know, and I know nothing no Vision Thing demo's have seen the light of day
Others may be able to tell you otherwise.

"We have too many cellphones. We've got too many internets. We have got to get rid of those machines. We have too many machines now." - Ray Bradbury.
I remember an interview where AE was bored until he was told VT demos were heard by someone. He said he was much more careful with demos these days than he was in the early days and couldn't believe they had gotten out. I have heard some fakes over the years but nothing real.
I am NOT in the cool club

listening to them back-to-back there is so much more going off on the single (which is actually labelled as a "remix" rather than just a different mix, indicating it is the later item) . although i'm more used to the album version i would find it hard to chose between them. but i would definitley love to hear any of the other finished mixes if anyone has them...mh wrote:I'd always assumed that the WYDSM single version was one of those more finished mixes.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
