If you could ask Andrew Eldritch one question...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

taking into account the fact that eldritch refers to the compilation of the early songs (you know- the ones that all sisters fans like regardless of anything) as "baby photos" i would imagine he considers his last official full-lenghth musical statement to be "...overbombing".
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

To my mind, being a fan of both bands, the reinvention of The Sisters songs over the years has been one of their strengths, sometimes it has worked and sometimes not, but rock n roll has to take risks, even intellectually lovely God-like ones.

Yes, I'd agree with that. I like the fact that they don't sound like they did 10 years ago, or 20 years ago, or 30 years ago.

Still, I'd have loved to hear an album from when Adam was with the band. I think we'd also get a good record from the current incarnation, of course. Shame it'll never happen.
