Favourite opening line to a song

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Marilyn Manson has some amazing lyrics....(not quite positive he wrote them all despite him being credited.) however three that stick out are.

I am the god of f**k - Cake and Sodomy.

Your world is an ashtray, we burn and coil like cigarettes - The Reflecting God.

We’re on a bullet and were heading straight into God - The Death Song.

Not quite the correct thread but I’m off to see him tomorrow night - hope the stage set stands up ;D

OOh yes, this (I keep changing my mind.)

Many years ago we had this at school, I varied between -

"It's cold outside, and the paint's peeling off my walls"

and

"My friend and I were talking one evening beside some burning wood."

At this precise moment I'm back with

It doesn't matter if we all die

In retrospect, I have to go with: "I lie when I drink, and I drink a lot. Don't believe me, when I've had a few..."

I still great opener for song and album.
This ^^ came to mind first followed by

"My brother knows Karl Marx, he met him eating mushrooms in the people's park"

and

"Don't forget your shovel if you want to go to work"

Absolutely great song! That guy was a genius, and the band were lightning in a bottle.

it's either: "lay me down the long white line" or "time takes a cigarette...puts it in your mouth"
the first line of 100 years comes close as does "i would have liked to have been deep frozen too!" (spirit of the age- hawkwind).
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
