A no brainer

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Type in a band you like and it'll (diagramatically) show you what other bands you should enjoy.

It doesn't like the "the" in The Sisters Of Mercy. Try it without before Eldritch finds out and threatens legal action.

It worked with Spacemen 3, but the problem is I only like about 3 or 4 of the 30 or so bands they recommended!!!

Waaaaah! I want my money back!!!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Pah, put in JAMC and it doesn't mention the Raveonettes! BRMC should be right next door to them too! Actually BRMC are there twice, how does that work?

Rubbish! :)

@DerekR: I got pretty much the same list from Spacemen 3. Except I did get the Raveonettes.

This could be a new game. Which band came up with the following selective list:

Tindersticks, Blixa Bargeld, Boys Next Door, Shipping News, Sigur Ros, Beck, Peter Gabriel, David Bowie and Crime and City Solution?

And why does My Dying Bride link to Nightwish, but not the other way round?

Interesting, but fundamentally crap, IMHO.

Nick Cave with or without The Bad Seeds?

Why does every band you put in manage to link back to 'Dalis Car'?

I mean, I ask you?

Is it Pete Murphy's site???

OMG Ed, I had managed to forget about Karn and Murph's pretentious nonsense for a decade plus, and now you bring it up....

On his own, yeah. Good shout. Who are Crime and the City Solution?

In other good news, if you like Icelandic band Minus you will only like one other act. Unfortunately I've forgotten which.

But since it wasn't the Sisters I guess I'd better leave ....

Roland S. Howerd (I think that's right) used to play geetar with The Birthday Party, he was also in CATCS, who were pretty unlistenable in my book.

Gimme another......... :D

I put The Sisters in & they didn't have a link to Joy Division... I put them in again & they did the 2nd time ! I also put Pantera in & they had a link to... Richie Sambora !!! Rrrrright then...

Still, pretty good fun in a 'got nothing else to do right now whatsoever' kinda way. :)

Oi! Steady now! Where do you think the 'Jansen' from 'JansenClone' comes from eh?

On the other hand I've spent the afternoon in the company of two (at one point three) other Heartlanders drinking in that gradually destructive sort of way... The evening may get difficult*...
