Sisters' homecoming, January 1983

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

New on my TSOM blog this week, the story of the band's triumphant 'live' return to Leeds in January '83 after the release of Alice, featuring an unseen contemporary review from Leeds Student newspaper, an exclusive quote about the gig from Eldritch, a rare Marx quote about the show's amazing finale (plus YouTube link to the audio of that final encore), an end to the mystery of the Warehouse photos, plus Ollie's listening notes for the gig, the poster, ads etc. Another amazing team effort to bring a legendary TSOM night back to life - thanks to all of you who helped! https://sistersfan.blogspot.com/2018/10 ... -live.html

Was also at the show, can't honestly say it was a brilliant homecoming, because I doubt anyone beyond the Circle knew they were a local band. Must have liked it 'cos still go a few years later

My first Sisters gig.

Not sure if it features on the live tape, but at the end I'm sure Eldritch muttered "Come to The Gun Club for a surprise"

Which of course we did. And weren't surprised by the support band.
Thanks to Pontiac Detroit and the citizens of Wakefield

A very nice read again ... :D :D :D ... that I've - of course - linked to the according SistersWiki page.

Also I've stored the text from the Leeds Student review there in full length ... :) ...

Thanks for this lovely effort to everyone involved ... :notworthy::notworthy: ...
