The Sisters of Mercy biography commissioned

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Pledged - 6% of the way there, not bad for the first few hours.

Will Chris sign up? He might learn a few things that don't crop up in everyday tour bus chat, and we know he's a big fan of pledge schemes.

"everyday tour bus chat"

Been a long time since we rock'n'rolled, as an old guitarist once 'sang'.

“Black November Ending Soon!

The first special offer on my book on Leeds and the first five years of The Sisters - “Paint My Name In Black and Gold - ends at midnight on Friday 30 November. This offer is intended primarily for the two big Sisters FB Groups and the Heartland Form, so if you are in these and want to support the book - and save money - please pledge before the weekend.

I thank everyone for their support so far. We have made a cracking start: 18% funded already. When we reach 25%, I’ll start posting updates on the Unbound website and giving a flavour of what will be in the book and its twin “White Rose Babylon.

More info on “Paint My Name In Black and Gold, the other packages and how to pledge are here:

In process of clarifying shipping ... apparently Greece and Norway are two of the most expensive EU/EEA countries to ship to. Other countries will be cheaper. More to come ...

Update on shipping costs.

Unbound had changed their carrier but not updated their page. That's being done now. £14+ is NOT the charge to deliver in Europe. This is still a tracked and signed service, reducing the change of First Editions going missing

A list of some European countries' P&P is below.

If those - or any of the RoW rates - are still prohibitive, I am adding a Digital Only package, which includes the eBook, the White Rose Babylon PDF and access to the curated playlist. This will be the price of a signed Hardback. This package will be called "Maybe It's a Way Too Long".

There are also the "Black November" and "I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas" offers to reduce overall price.

I'd like as many as people to own this book and I wouldn't want postage to be an issue.

Austria – 10.47
Belgium - 8.52
Croatia - 11.67
Czech Republic - 10.63
Denmark - 7.27
France - 8.68
Germany - 5.66
Greece - 11.71
Ireland - 7.71
Italy - 8.04
Netherlands - 6.42
Norway - 13.26
Poland - 10.79
Portugal - 11.71
Russia - 11.71
Spain - 8.17
Sweden - 9.65
UK - 4.00

The simple me wonders why the German postage is so much cheaper than say the Irish or French. Weird

The mysteries of the postal service are beyond me...I post quite a few Abridged magazines using the 'European' rate (which theoretically means the price should be the same anywhere in Europe) so it is the same price for me to send a magazine to Berlin as it is down the road to Dublin disturbingly. Might be worth investigating...
