Echoes (Volume IV)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Some of this bootleg (https://sisterswiki.org/ECHOES_VOL_IV) seems suspect.

Afterhours is confirmed as fake (https://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=26939)

Surely the same can be said for the 'Phantom' demos - Fake surely.

Same for 'Train'?

The other one I can't work out is the Marian, 3rd distortion mix. What is this?

There is a legit short demo of Phantom which typically crops up on the 81/82/83 portastudio demo collections (Hard Reign, Before the Flood, Ultra Rare Trax, etc). I haven't heard the Echoes version though.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Good spot. I have Hard Reign, and the 'short demo' of Phantom that is on Echoes is the same version.

There's two versions of Train on Echoes too that are also puzzling me in terms of being legit. A 1984 studio demo that seems quite polished in comparison to other demos, and a 'short version' that might just be faded out.
