So we'll find out pretty soon.
(Unless everyone knows and I've just missed it)
From Instagram, it looks like Ben has spent the guts of a full week training them up.

Safer to say we know who it won't be
Four strings good, six strings bad
Tommy Iommi, Jimmy Page, Brian May, also Kirk Hammett and Pat Metheny (collision of schedules) - we won't see them on the same stage, the same time on this tour.

Kirk will be cosying-up to Chris for inside info, seeing as he's a Sisters fanBartek wrote:Tommy Iommi, Jimmy Page, Brian May, also Kirk Hammett and Pat Metheny (collision of schedules) - we won't see them on the same stage, the same time on this tour.

Johnny Marr is probably a bit embarrassed by his old vocalist so maybe he fancies a new one...and Eldritch singing the Queen is Dead would be a thing of beauty (actually I'd love to hear that!)

I've got a soft spot for two of the Sabbath albums that Tony made without Geezer* (Tyr, and Headless Cross - which has a guest spot from Brian May).Swinnow wrote:Doubt it'd be Tony Iommi as he'd bring Geezer Butler along too.
None of which gets us anywhere nearer establishing who's playing guitar tomorrow, but your post reminded me of being 14, relatively carefree and starting to discover Sabbath (Tyr had just come out). So thanks. Now back to grown-up boring life.
* the other two are less rewarding, Forbidden is utterly horrible, one of the most disappointing albums I've ever bought

He seems to be hashtagging some of the upcoming setlist aswell! In no particular order and most likely as the usual "medleys". No surprises there so far.Todashi wrote:So we'll find out pretty soon.

From Ben’s IG feed he has been in Brussels all week. He called the new guitarist ‘The Dude’ when asked who it was.
Me - I’m going for Simon Hinkler - at least he knows Marian

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I still say holographic Ron Asheton.
How about John Ashton?
He's not in The Furs' touring line up this year is he?
& he has connections to The Sister aswell

Ben seems quite upbeat, I think.ROBBIE wrote:From Ben’s IG feed he has been in Brussels all week. He called the new guitarist ‘The Dude’ when asked who it was.
That and the way he writes makes me think it's someone relatively young and unknown.
I think it will be someone young and unknown, a friend of Ben's or possibly a friend of Chris.
Someone well known would probably require paying more. I don't think Von makes decisions particularly based on potential artistic contribution at this stage of his career.
But who knows? Perhaps maybe new blood means one or two new songs?

Relatively young? Well, if we're talking relative to...I don't know, Stonehenge?...then maybe this guy? I don't think he's doing much this summer, and he probably won't get into a snit about 's work ethic...euphoria wrote:Ben seems quite upbeat, I think.ROBBIE wrote:From Ben’s IG feed he has been in Brussels all week. Personally the image of Jimmy Page in full ZoSo regalia teaching Ben a few new rawk shapes as Doktor Avalanche hits full Bonham has me salivating.
Well in reality it'd probably cause me to put me hip out of joint nowadays lol

....if I have to explain, then you'll never understand....
It was more or less derailed in only 4th post, so - speaking personally - I was (my) a failure. My success was derail in post #2.euphoria wrote:Good at least that this thread didn't derail quick as hell
But seriously: we all know that we don't know, but tomorrow - well, technically speaking: on early hours of Sunday - we will find out who he or she is. Unless, someone, who's attending on Hellfest, will find out few hours before gig (by let say, seeing with who Ben's hanging with).

Ahh, so Ben's spent all week trying to get him off The Ledge then. Time well spent when the set consists of a stonking 60 minute Gimme Shelter jam. You lucky sods going to HellfestEvilBastard wrote:Relatively young? Well, if we're talking relative to...I don't know, Stonehenge?...then maybe this guy?
