Rarest Sisters (Part 2)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I bet you don't have this one: back in 1987 a local radio station in Borgholm, Oelandia, Sweden, was trying to fill a gap of two hours radio time and asked a young intern, a friend of mine, if he could come up with anything. He approached me and together we set up a Sisters of Mercy-special, playing their musical history in chronological order, starting with Damage Done and wrapping it up with This Corrosion. In between songs I talked a little, bits I'd read about in Heartland and stuff. You can hear all kinds of things that shouldn't be there, scratchy records, wiping dust off of the vinyl while they were playing, drinking, talking, me getting increasingly incoherent.
Later we asked the owner of the station if he had had any number of listener-rates and he said the figures were something to the effect of 0.0. That meant it could actually have been as high as two or three listeners. It was aired late one night mid-week. But we didn't mind. It was fun doing it, we got completely free hands and it was a nice snowy day to spend inside a hut in the middle of nowhere. Two cassette copies were made, along with the mastertape and I'm pretty sure one of the copies is gone so that makes it a total of one. Wich I'm the not-so-proud owner of.
