Reading '91

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Anybody who knows what the line up of that one was? And is it the last gig with Tony James?

Not quite TJ's last gig - that was Winterthur Festival the following week.

Didn't they have Dan Donovan on keyboards as well? Or was that earlier in the tour?
Reading '91 was my second Sisters gig, and still the best IMHO. Fond memories of that weekend! 8)

Could the backing singer be Suzanne Josesowicz who also doubled up as the 'Nurse to the Doktor'?

Great gig, though it provoked some friends who hadn't come across The Sisters before to stare open-mouthed for more time than you'd think was humanly possible without a lobotomy. Afterwards, all they could say was, "What the **** was that all about?"

Unfortunately the shirt I bought (Von on the front with light shining from the back) only provokes questions like "Is that a Michael Jackson t-shirt?" so it doesn't get worn so often these days.

I seem to remember seeing a jacket like that around for a while... Don't really remember who was in it though! (Sorry)

Sounds like it. Apparently she was on a Phillip Boa album after touring with the Sisters. Not been able to find a trace of her since.

Was there - can't remember a fricking thing. Up until Von parading around with American football padding chanting "Whole world in his hands"
Great gig though.

I remember alot of Ned's Atomic Dustbin fans had stuck around for The Sisters after the Neds had left the stage, and were chanting "you fat bastard!" at Eldo - he replied "I don't think sooo!" :von: :notworthy:
