The Darkness

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Did anyone see the nature programme, about two weeks ago, about the baboons who spent nights down a cave which was completely devoid of light?

Is there a punchline to this?

No. But it was very good. The film crew set up infra red cameras to watch them as they crept into the hole, down the sides of the 10ft drop and onto the floor of the cave. It had a low ceiling and was completely dark. It ran for about 200 yards down and down to a small flat space where the troupe slept, safe from predators. Conveniently the bats who inhabited it at night left at dusk and came back at dawn, so they acted as a sort of alarm call, which was necessary in view of the darkness. It was, perhaps, the funniest TV I have ever seen and I am still laughing about it. Not obviously so, just on reflection... It was funny for one reason, and that was the fact that none of them could see where they were going. They whooped and grunted together as they played follow-my-leader down to the sleeping quarters. They all kept in close touch and didn't always get it perfectly right. They patted the floor reassuringly to feel their way along, chatting as they did so. I LONGED to speak baboon so I could get what they were saying.

Lemme guess...the lead baboon also bears an uncanny resemblance to Dave Mustaine?

Apart from the hideously bad teeth, that is. Dave is American and we do have standards in that respect, at least.

Of course there's nothing wrong with slighly crooked teeth--they give a person character. But if that Dave-look-a-like-kid had any more character, he'd be a public hazard, and most likely shut down for immediate, mandatory repairs. I blame the parents.

How appropriate this should come up in the context of baboons.

Er...well...um...honestly, I just want to know if he looks like Dave Mustaine in person too.

Oh, also, a friend of mine thinks that, cos of their musical style, there's no way they're in their late 20s. Did you see any crow's feet?

There, they're, their. Phew.

No, he doesnt. and i can't see that he does on vid or photos, either.

band are 26,27,28 and 32. no crows feet that i could see. and three of them are local round here, so if they were lying, someone would have shopped them. plenty of people were at school with them.

Megadeth ruled, don't get me wrong Corpy, I adored them in their heyday. Between me and you, I think it has passed, if it's any consolation Metallica lost it on the 'black' album IMO, now Voivod......... hmmmmmm :D

OK, I'm with you on that last post. It was lame. Did not stand up to scrutiny at all.
