MP4a

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hi all

This may be better in weeding. Not sure.

Anyway, have access to a certain ftp site :innocent: and have downloaded the echoes demos. They're this m4a format. Got meself Winamp 5 to play them and the quality is noticeably better than mp3

is there any CD burning prog around that can handle them?

thanks!

M4a aka MP4 aka AAC (Advanced Audio Codec) is an audio format developed by Doubly Studios.

WinAmp 5 and iTunes can both burn CDs from them.

But you can't do heavy metal in Doubly

iTunes Mac or PC version will burn these for you. It'll also keep your files better organised than an anal librarian proofreader...

Now, tell me about this FTP...

Red...I have noticed that almost anything that anyone says results in you trotting out a Spinal Tap reference. Which is great, actually. Many's the time I've got out of a difficult situation with my boss at work by pausing and shouting, "It's yer f****n' wife!"

Best wishes,

I'm still using winamp 2.61 (I won't touch the later versions with a bargepole), but it has a nice little feature that hopefully will still be in the later winamps.

Press ctrl-P to open the preferences
Select plugins-output
select Nullsoft Disc Writer plugin (remember what it's set to so you can change it back afterwards!)
click configure and choose a folder where you want your wavs to go
then exit preferences, "play" the songs, and winamp will very quickly convert them to wav
Then you can burn the wavs to cd with your cd writing prog.
