Waiting for another War?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

This book suddenly came up as "sold out" via a post on Dominion!

https://www.gkwfilmworks.com/sisters

No mention of it here according to my search?

"This printing is hardcover and strictly limited to 200 signed copies.

250 pages.

50 black and white illustrations.

6 x 9 inches.

ISBN 781734 479324."

Did anyone actually order one?

It occasionally splutters back to life briefly.

I did a strawpoll to kill it off and was overwhelmingly outvoted!

Seems some people are as nostalgic for the past as writers of books set in the early 1980s!

I saw it on one of the Facebook groups and got a copy, spur of the moment thing, just before it sold out, it was so quick!

Lots of people missed out, so Trevor is looking at doing another paperback run, i'll keep an eye on Facebook and pop the details here if i see anything. :D

What? Facebook groups? I was in one of those for a while, its 90% people posting old videos from Youtube going "Good evening!" or "have a nice weekend!" and then someone threatened me with physical violence for having the temerity to refuse his offer of a lift I didn't need!

I cannot believe someone would prioritise such a hive of scum and villainy to sell his books!

Also, more to the point, bemused that none of you hardcore Sisters spotters mentioned it here!

Yeah, Facebook is..... 'interesting'

It basically sold out as soon as it was posted so didn't bother mentioning it.

Paperback run might be of interest to some so we'll see what he says!

Ordered it as well. The impending import tax does however terrify me.

Here's the update from Trevor for those that haven't seen:

Waiting For Another War: UPDATE

I have been pleasantly surprised by the response to WFAW. I had thought the hardcover run would take months to sell. Lesson: never underestimate interest in The Sisters. To everyone who ordered a copy, thank you. And big thank you to Phil and Nikolas for all the support.

Here are answers to some questions.

If you completed the checkout successfully (if PayPal confirmed your payment) your book is reserved. All of them have to be wrapped with dust jackets, numbered in two places, signed, packaged (with a customs form in many cases) and sent. Hence the June ship date.

I have had a few requests for a second printing. The hardcover will not be reprinted but I will do a small paperback run. Look for an announcement soon in this space.

I have added a waitlist option to the website if you are interested in a limited edition hardcover. Please head over here (https://www.gkwfilmworks.com/sisters), scroll all the way down, and click the email link at the bottom to add your name. Do not message me here on Facebook or contact me in another way please. If any copies become available, I will send you an email. No obligations.

Thank you!

So the waitlist is there in case any hardbacks become available but there will definitely be a paperback run coming up as well for those that missed :D

The shot of the books...really hope that last stack didn't fall over and dent the corners!

Go figure...in the same general period we're getting two hardcover, exhaustive histories of TSOM in the early days.

And we have new songs, some of which are all over YouTube. Perhaps AE being shut in like the rest of the world will produce the "next album".
