Bug reports, quirks and other broken stuff

For you to give feedback to the Heartland moderators. Wish lists, fault reports, etc. You may get an answer, you may not. As in all things, it largely depends on how nicely you ask the people in charge... You're welcome.

We've just done a rather large forum upgrade.

The upgrade went well, but it was quite complex so there's probably going to be a few bits and bobs that aren't working quite right yet.

If you notice anything broken, missing or not quite right, let me know by replying this thread.

Thanks for your patience,
QB

Current known issues are:

- missing user birthdays
- missing image gallery

I'm working on the birthdays.

There doesn't seem to be a simple fix to get the gallery working in the new forum software, so I may have explore other options.

One other thing to note is that everyone's theme will have been changed to the new red & white default board theme.

For all you dodgy darklings out there who prefer something a little less retina-burning, I've also created a dark theme.

You can activate it by clicking your username in the top-right corner of every page, selecting the "User Control Panel" option and then clicking the "Board Preferences" tab. You should see a dropdown box labelled My board style Pick the dark style and hit the Submit button.

Oh yeah, and the "new posts" feature has moved.

It's now at the top of the page, under "Quick Links".

Or here, should you wish: search.php?search_id=newposts

Just to add. Do try it on a mobile device. I'm out right now and on the phone and it looks jolly nice
Cheers.

Birthdays have been restored. :D

However, the homepage only shows users who's birthday is TODAY

I'l look into how to make it show users with a birthday in the next few days...

Thanks. Might just be on older posts. For reasons I can’t work out there seems to be an issue with custom emojis (the ones we added ourselves) in older posts.

It's happening on the latest post on Artmania thread in the sharing section, so less than a day old.

Looks all nice and runs faster than before. Save draft option for postings is a pretty benefit... :) ...

Great job again, Barry ... :D :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: ...

The little coloured square markers have gone from the front page. The markers that show when someone has posted a new reply in a thread.

If you click on a link you get to that page and leave HL automatically. The link does no longer open in a new tab... :) ...

There should be a green check mark to indicate new posts

Yep, there's a few ways you can find new posts/see which ones are new.

These grey topic icons will be green if there's a new post in there:

or you could check the timestamp here:

or you can check this page:
