Re-re-run of currently watching

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

also if you like historical-ish stuff 'The Favourite' is rather a good film. queen anne (the first queen of the unified Britain and ironically the last queen of direct british desent before we went all hanover-tit) is played rather brilliantly by olivia coleman but the film is stolen for me by7 Rachel Wez's Sarah, duchess of Marlborough; who as well as being Anne's puppet-master is also drinki8ng from her furry cup. :innocent:

the first episode of this has me hooked and luckily all 10 episodes are available at once. written and produced by Frank Miller so the quality is almost guaranteed.
Well that was very enjoyable! Unsure as to how to follow that :notworthy: 8)

Which is not documentary and takes a sarcastic turn of events. Many dark comedy strokes in the era of Catherine the Great. They put on fantastic characters like on parallel universe and lots of funny stuff occur.
Have just finished this & I thought it was fantastic.
Elle Fanning was awesome.
Cheers.

We just finished watching it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the early establishing shots of Dallas showed the building we lived in before moving to DC. They got the city just right enough to make us homesick, and just wrong enough to make us laugh. The aerial shots of Dealey Plaza brought back a lot of memories. The “FBI building” that Vanya gets locked up in is a federal courthouse now, and where I got my first passport.

The only qualm I have with it so far is the audio mix. The scenes underscored by music, gunshots, general fighting seem to be 3 or 4x the volume of the regular dialogue scenes. One minute I'm struggling to hear what's being said, so I crank it up a tad. The next, I get concert levels of soundtrack.
Other than that, it is very enjoyable. Just need to keep a remote nearby.
Cheers.

I have that experience more and more. Either they've changed the way they mix sound or we're just getting old.

I think this is the first time it's been this pronounced for me (maybe I've only just reached "the age").
Deadwood was a little bit up & down, but UA was so severe that I actually recalibrated the speakers in the surround system to see if the settings were all jacked up.
