NEW SONGS!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Don't like that ticking drum machine sound. Otherwise a nice one :)

Very nice. I like the way it layers up over time. You can get a sense of what a studio recording might sound like.

Nor me. although now i do it occurs to me that the entry for "red skies disappear" must be incorrect as Gary Marx wrote the music for FALAA and this is that but with different lyrics (which i believe he also wrote.)

I really hope these new songs get released, specially digitally. Like pretty much everyone, I listen to lots of different kinds of music, and I'd like the Sisters to take up residence on my spotify and Apple music playlists.

I'd like to be able to easily refer other people to them, and help the audience grow. I'd like to be able play the new tracks in with the old ones, and basically just not have to go to Youtube to hear them, as I don't otherwise listen to music there.

Well, I think it's a good sign for us that he doesn't mention any band names, and that he implies lock-down means productivity and creativity.
Other than that, well what can we do in 2020 except wait...as I've said before, the Sisters have the opportunity of a lifetime now to produce a lot of new songs, and I seriously think they are doing that. Because what else would they do?

More new songs listed on the website.

We're now up to 16 new songs + all the other unreleased songs — easily material enough for a double album.

Being both realistic and easy to please, I'll settle for either the 160g double vinyl edition of the new album or the limited edition box featuring the 12 new 12" EPs.

Oh the year that 2020 might have been. If even three or four more of the new songs had been played live, we'd have the bulk of a new live album to wig out to.

I'm still loving the new stuff - playing it regularly. Show me is an absolute banger, with But Genevieve coming up close behind it.

Absolutely agree. But Genevieve is a real earworm, absolutely top SoM material. I also love Black Sail, great feel and nice sense of mystery. So looking forward to hearing the rest!

Forsner uploaded a cover of But Genevieve recently.

Adding a link here in case anyone missed it like me.

I've always liked those Les Paul basses, but I think the only person I've ever seen playing one is Eddie from the Supersuckers.
