Today I have been mostly...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Getting old sucks. I miss the days when I could consume heroic amounts of hooch and wake up the next day feeling fine.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Oh hell, the teeth... :urff: ... Mine have been complaing for months, recently. The always do, when I'm under stress, because I use to grind them day and night then. Until they start to produce pain. The recent result: one beyond help and pulled out (two weeks ago) and another one, which is under steady treatment now, saved (by around 90%) and being crowned in November if all goes well. As to the pain, the best countermeasure I've found is - icepacks... :) ...

I remember my.Grandad permanently having a fag on the go when he suffered an abscess. It was not safe to be in the same room as him as the air was both acrid and blue

Hope it's sorted quickly.

CamilleDeville wrote: 24 Sep 2020, 16:28  @DJElectricDaddy So do you keep your accent or do you start to sound like the people around you over time? I still don’t understand half the people in my area, and I sure don’t understand Coach O from LSU
@CamilleDeville I moved here when I was 28 so the accent was set it. No changing it now. My son can do a good English accent even though hes a full Yank. Bit of me rubbed off on him. I imagine people in your part of the country have a pretty thick accent and slang that could be hard to get your head around. Like Glasgow.

Seeing Leeds Uni's Henry Price flats on the BBC News and recalling lurkers in dodgy headgear doing a photoshoot in the graveyard behind.
