Sisters spotting

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

There's an absolutely incredible Swedish band called "viagra boys".
Bassist wears sisters tees, not surprised at all, based on the ampetafuled vibes.

Oh yay! I'm so glad someone in here knows them.
Very, very decent music. Punks not dead, it just needed some viagra

I have a ticket to see them in Hamburg. Was planned for November, now it‘s scheduled for May 2021. I‘m nearly as excited as I am before a Sisters concert.

Viagra is a rude word now? Or the group styles their name with a *?
EDIT: Ah, it censored my post. The former then, I suppose.

I had that same thought, so did a little search to check, before realising I was googling "viagra boys" on my work PC. 🙈

Censoring viagra was done when there was a big influx of spammers trying to sell the stuff. Cialis is also censored IIRC. Probably can be removed now to be honest

Probably wouldn't stop spammers as the url is usually just a bunch of gibberish letters & numbers, so it doesn't make any different if the accompanying word salad gets censored.

If only it was that easy to get a word censor removed. I know there are people who are put off from posting here because of the childish censoring of The m*****n.

we have some pretty thorough measures in place to stop spammers signing up these days.

my point was more about the word appearing uncensored here, so putting us on the radar of spammers looking to post in places that already have content like that (which is publicly indexable by google etc) - like a honey pot or something - and attracting more and more of them to attempt to sign up. as thorough as our anti-spam measures currently are, if more and more where to try some would inevitably slip through.

we will see how it goes anyway.

the m*****n thing was always a silly joke and no harm was meant

it was a call back to the daft sisters vs mish rivalry of the 80s and 90s - a "grudge" which has long since been irrelevant for most fans of both bands

we even discussed removing it a while ago, but a lot of people said it was harmless fun, so we left it

honestly, if that is enough to put folks off signing up, i'd be more worried about their disposition :/
