Take my cnut of a neighbour as a for example....she, in spite of a shelter-in-place order issued by the governor of California, decided to fly to Washington DC for a prayer vigil and protest of all the forged votes that kept our lovely god-fearing Emporor out of a second term
There absolutely none f that sentence that makes any logical sense. I’m equally baffled and horrified
When she came back I told her to f**k the f**k off and never ever talk to me again. I’d hate for my radicalised liberal socialist views to taint her pious glow

I'm going to attempt to fly home on the 5th. I skipped xmas and new year's figuring all the crazies would fly then and planes would be packed. judging from how some airports looked like it was a good decision. I do need to get back to my parents though. I ordered this face shield thing I look like a proper crazy person, also can't really see much it's one of those cheap things but should keep all kinds of splash out. let's hope for the best. even if I don't get quarantined officially, I will quarantine myself for a while and then head to the family later.
I think you need to provide a negative test result, (but the rules change every fortnight when they are reviewed). Then you quarantine for 10 days & have a second test that needs to be negative before you can leave quarantine. There's a quarantine app too believe it or not.sziamiau wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 21:19 I'm going to attempt to fly home on the 5th. It checks that you're where you've said you'll be & you can't trick it either as it turns on your phone camera to make sure you're actually there.
Had a friend from Switzerland over a couple of weeks back. She had to quarantine for 10 days before she could actually come and visit or do anything else.

Wow that’s amazing use of technology. I wish they implemented something like that over here

Since I’m Hungarian I don’t think I need a test I should just be quarantined if they don’t accept my work documents that is. We will see. I prefer no quarantine cause at least I can go for a run or walk then but if I have to I will. I read about the app I’ll see if I download or not. I will make final decisions on everything on the 4th I guess
Just a heads up Kati. My friend from Switzerland is Hungarian too.sziamiau wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 23:56

I think the rules are applicable depending on where you're coming from.
I would certainly double check before you travel just in case.
that is weird. I keep reading it and you only need the two tests if you dont want quarantine. I have a temporary address card maybe that's the difference. my last negative test was last week so that will be too old. but thanks for the info I will continue checking
If I find any new info I'll let you know. Fingers crossed it all works out though.sziamiau wrote: ↑31 Dec 2020, 10:15that is weird. One top tip though, keep an eye on the restrictions for your return journey. My friend, Krisztina, was almost caught out as Switzerland were suddenly put on the red list & she had to pull her flight in by 2 days to be able to get back.
yeah I have not even bought my ticket coming back. until the 19th the requirement is a negative test and then quarantine, but nobody ever checks here. so quarantine in HU is a lot stricter then in NL. people just run around here. I haven't been out of the house since September other than the store and a couple of days work bt just a couple of weeks ago the city centre was packed.Pista wrote: ↑31 Dec 2020, 10:24 If I find any new info I'll let you know. Just been out to pick up some palinka & saw a stall selling masks. There was a crowd of people pawing them all & then one woman asked if she could try one on. The seller said, "Go ahead." I walked away immediately. WTF?

Be thankful you actually have governments that recognize the situation and take action, no matter how haphazard that feels at times. Better than a government that has sat on its arse for 10 months and done nothing pretending it will all just go away

The thing with the UK govt though is that they ignore all the science & then wait until they have no options left before implementing what they should have done weeks ago, but have no choice other then to do it now.DJElectricDaddy wrote: ↑04 Jan 2021, 18:14 Be thankful you actually have governments that recognize the situation and take action, no matter how haphazard that feels at times. In some ways that's probably worse than just pretending it will go away. It's effectively trolling its citizens by flip flopping from one day to the next.
Yesterday Bozo was on the telly adamant that it was safe for kids to go back to school.
Today, 24 hours later, he's reportedly going to shut everything again including the schools.
Ade Edmonson tweeted something earlier that pretty much sums it up.

Well here they ignore the science, wait until they have no options left, and don’t implement anything, sending the message to the country just go about your business as usual.
Never thought I’d be saying this in a million years but I’d love to have a Boris in charge, that’s an upgrade. Still, only two weeks (and a bit) until the new boss takes over (hopefully). Either that or civil war. I imagine the message will change significantly

Boris and his acolytes have shown themselves in their true colours, being more concerned with looking after Timmy Wetherspoons and the like minded Brexit bunch. Mind you, Nicola hasn't been much better with her 'don't look at me, blame the English' stance. The coming lockdown should have occurred a fortnight ago at least.DJElectricDaddy wrote: ↑04 Jan 2021, 18:14 Be thankful you actually have governments that recognize the situation and take action, no matter how haphazard that feels at times. Nation-wide lock-down is at least possible in the UK, at this point that ship has long sailed in the USA. Some states would just ignore it or go to the SCOTUS to fight it rather than slow the infections. That assumes we'd have a national strategy, of course.DJElectricDaddy wrote: ↑04 Jan 2021, 18:33 Well here they ignore the science, wait until they have no options left, and don’t implement anything, sending the message to the country just go about your business as usual.

Well that’s the larger point I was trying to make. Other than inject bleach, inject light, don’t wear a mask, don’t let covid rule your life, there has been no official comment, let alone policy. Even a haphazard bunch of flip floppery would be an improvement. A bad plan executed today better than a good one executed tomorrow and all thatElectrochrome wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021, 19:44That assumes we'd have a national strategy, of course.DJElectricDaddy wrote: ↑04 Jan 2021, 18:33 Well here they ignore the science, wait until they have no options left, and don’t implement anything, sending the message to the country just go about your business as usual.

I literally had to raise my voice to stop him so I can get up. I do not understand humans. anyways tomorrow will take a nice walk or run during my break, otherwise working and studying
