i have a few favourites:
Birmingham 9.10.84 coz "SKOS" premiered.
Colchester 20.10.84 coz of sound quality.
Utrecht 6.11.84 coz of sound quality.
And last and maybe least:
Leeds 26.10.84...it's last and least because the sound quality is as bad as they come, but from what i can hear the performance would've been brilliant, and the guy who taped it hopefully will be punished by the gods because "SKOS" is incomplete.
On the whole, some nights Knockin'... and Gimme Shelter sound better than others, but even i can't remember exactly when.

I really like the 31st Oct gig. Mainly because it was the first Sisters boot I owned and the first time I heard most of the pre F+L+A stuff as well.
Pretty much the whole of the Black October tour was good.

Haven't heard that many Black October gigs on tape; Colchester is indeed very nice, and altough technically Utrecht wasn't during the Black October tour (just fell in between Black October and the German Walk Away '84 tour) it is one of the better I've heard from late 1984 ... The Hey Joe Purple Haze meddley gig would be a choice if not for the poor quality ...itnAklipse wrote:i have a few favourites:

Speaking of poor quality my Nottingham 17/10 tape has quite abysmal sound quality. Does anyone know if Colours in Carnage has a decent recording ?

That was my first and last Sisters gig. Don't blame the guy who taped it. The sound really was sh!t. They got halfway into Body Electric before I even recognised it.itnAklipse wrote:Leeds 26.10.84...it's last and least because the sound quality is as bad as they come, but from what i can hear the performance would've been brilliant, and the guy who taped it hopefully will be punished by the gods because "SKOS" is incomplete.

Guidlford was great, but can't really compare it with much else
My fave is the Black October bootleg from Brighton 22 Oct.
The CD of Colours in Carnage has nice sound. The coloured LPs are just transfers from the CD with much poorer sound. If you want, I can make you a copy of the CD

Hojyuu-obi: Ahh, i never knew that the german-leg of the tour had a different name, thanks for pointing it out.
Trash Harry: Well yes, thanks to the guy who taped it we have at least some sort of recording of the concert, which is much better than nothing. Actually i thought the bad sound, as there's a lot of fluctuation, could be because it has been transferred from generation x copy and some 3 über-collectors only would have a perfect tape.
But still, to have whole of SKOS would be wonderful.

17 / 10 because it has been the only time in Sisters history they have played on my birthday
By the way, I've got 3 different recordings of it but a wise man from an isle told me (after I had described those ones to him) all they are from the same source. What an irony - I've heard a version from another source exists too

Liverpool Royal Court.
It was my first night as a student in Liverpool and I didn't even know they were playing in Liverpool that night. A couple of people in our hall of residence thought it'd be a good idea to recruit a group of similarly-hairstyled and blackly-clothed types from the newcomers. A great way to meet new people, and we were able to compare bruises the next day. So, as an experience, the gig and everything around it made an instant impression.
