COVID-19 coronavirus

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Ok, i do get, i buy scientific and statistic reasons, when it comes to blood clots. However there are issues of other side effects related to AZ, which may derive from fact that AZ vaccine is other type of vaccine, and it gives harsher immune response.

But if it's really politics then it's sad, don't get why, but at least there are other options.

@Swinnow, thanks.

News released just now, from Norway's "national hospital", Google Translate if necessary.

I'm also against the stopping of AZ, but that's simply because of cost vs benefit, not because I would claim to know that AZ is 100 % safe. It's not unusual that complications show up years after a vaccine was given, but we cannot afford to wait "years", hence the emergency approvals..

It just said on the news that several countries that discontinued AZ (Germany, France, Italy, Spain) are going to start administering it again from tomorrow, after an enquiry by the EU medicine regulator concluded it was not associated with a higher risk of blood clots.

The whole "we need to be sure about Astra Zenica because there may be a very small chance it may cause blood clots " was always bollocks. We KNOW cigarettes and alcohol can cause blood clots but I find it unlikely that European countries are going to halt sales of them anytime soon.

I received my first AZ jab some 36hrs ago now, no side effects so far at all, though the nurse did advise having some paracetamol to hand as headaches are occasionally reported.

Had first dose of AZ vaccine a couple of hours ago.

No side effects yet (but I suspect they'll turn up tomorrow if I do get any), still running Linux on the desktop.

Got mine on Monday. Got a fluish fever, chills and aches but only lasted a day or so. And Bill Gates probably knows where I live. 😉

my mother seems to be stable after getting covid. it was very scary for a couple of days she was deteriorating fast but they treated her fast in the hospital, got faviparivir, antibiotics, bamlanivimab through IV which is not even approved by the EU but approved by the FDA. still a long process but perhaps she will stay out of the hospital now.

Oh my, all the best for a further recovery to your mother ... and to you, too. It must have been rather stressful to see her hit by that damned virus. Best wishes !!!
