41 years ago yesterday since this was released... seems like only 17 seconds ago...
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Now those really were the days. That album cover launched a thousand denim jacket embroidery sessions across Merseyside.eastmidswhizzkid wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 00:22

We saw Whitesnake support AC/DC there in 1980, I think. But the Whitesnake gigs at Liverpool Empire were the stuff of legend, was a great rock venue, shame it doesn't hold gigs nowadays, the Academy around the back is a poor substitute, though admittedly half the size.
edit: sorry, it was 1981, same year as Thin Lizzy at Milton Keynes in festival season. '79 was Zep at Knebworth, '82 had us at Roundhay Park to see the Stones and '83 was Lizzy and 'Sabbath' at Reading.
