You all had quite young parents compared to mine...

The daddy was 50 when I was born & his taste was exclusively Irish traditional...he was very disappointed when I started listening to 'noise' like my brothers.

Me mam likes a bit of (proper) soul & Elvis of course...but the things we agree on are Andy Williams & Dean Martin. Pure class.

Poppa Debaser was a huge jazz fan, Benny Carter, Coltrane, Davies, Ellington, Bird, Gillespe, Rheinhert, Bessie Smith, Peggy Lee...oh I could go on (as could he!)

Big sis's record collection was a regular haunt of mine til she moved out (so that 'window was only open for a few years - she fecked off one week after she was 17) Who, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music. T.Rex that one with Ginger Baker in it (Cream?)

Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart was my biggest influence.....Allo Muddah, Allo Fadda, here I am at Camp Granada...

hummmm... well i love music, i breath music, cause since i was in my mama's belly i was surrounded by music.

My father, hippy boy, played in a band (was a drummer) while my mama, a beatles'fan went all time with a huge belly (me inside :oops: ) to the concerts and to the rehearsals (i dunno if it's the right name).

So.. all time i was listening (even after i was born) Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel, The Doors, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, T-Rex, Bowie, Hendrix, Dylan, Janis Joplin... and so on....

Mama never said nothing about the music that i like, and she has some favourites bands too.. like The Cult (ok ok i must admit that i listened it day and night), The Cure, Nick Cave and Sisters of Mercy.. yeap.. she loves TSOM... specially the Floodland record...

And that's it... ;D

Sadly I got a 'Junior Choice' CD from Amazon the other day. Mainly for 'I've lost my mummy' by Rolf Harris and 'The Laughing Policeman' by Charles Penrose. :eek:

My mum really wasn't (and still isn't) cool when it comes to her taste in music. It was my dad that first got my into Pink Ffloyd though. (and now he spends his days watching classic fm on sky) <sigh>

My mother used to go out with Donovan back in the 60s, very briefly. Hippy chick. My da's a big musical fan though, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, that kinda stuff.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
