I'm going to see the Jesus & Mary Chain tonight which will be just the second time I've seen them.
I checked the date for the last time I saw them and it was May 8th 1986, supported by Sonic Youth, in other words a slightly disturbing thirty five and a half years ago. Is this a record?

Beats my best - Saw The Nephilim in September for the first time since 1991, and seeing NMA next week, also the first time since 1991

Saw Jesus and Mary Chain last night in Manchester, very good indeed. Darklands was ace and then the setlist for the second half was very good as well-enjoy.
As for gaps between seeing bands I saw the Rezillos in 1978-I think at Lancaster Uni and then in 2018 at Manc Academy. Suprised I survived never mind them...!

I've seen The Fields Of The Nephilim twice, once in October 1990, once in October 2012. Only 22 years gap

Can't beat those statistics. My first concert was Harry Belafonte in Canada (1981). He's 94 now so I don't think I'll be seeing him again and making a 40 year gap.

To be fair I couldn't have seen them for about 35 of those years as they were split or touring as the Revillos...!!

I saw Judas Priest in 1983, if I was to go and see them support Ozzy in 2024 that would be 41, but I don't have tickets and the tour will almost certainly never actually happen.

To continue a theme Front 242 tomorrow at Islington Academy, first time since April 1989. A gap which has been extended by a couple of years due to Covid as this show was originally scheduled for May 2020, then February 2021, then July 2021, then February 2022, and now for tomorrow.

Nice saw them well into their lifespan at Eurorock in 2000, feckin marvellous they were! Consequenty had tickets to see them some time thereafter at the Manchester Academy but the gig was binned for unremembered reasons. Thread necro because next month I'm off to see Judas Priest in the Peoples Republic only 40 years and 3 months since I saw them at Leicester De Montfort Hall on December 20th 1983. I actually really do like Priest as well.

Saw them the 24/11...first time it was and thought i could see them once again last saturday. Well i didn't travel to Heidelberg. I saw the Sisters 3 times: 2009, 2019, 2023. I had tickets for Berlin 2016, but it was postponed and I missed it. Well it depends on my mood and what the gig gave me in terms of feelings, so I decide to see a band once a year. Actually i look for bands i never saw on stageruffers wrote: ↑19 Nov 2021, 11:11 I'm going to see the Jesus & Mary Chain tonight which will be just the second time I've seen them.

My first ever gig was ska revival band, Bad Manners at Leeds Polytechnic.
I was only 12 or 13 which would make it 1982 or 83 but I don't have the actually date & when I decided to make a list of all the gigs I've attended, a couple of years ago, I sadly couldn't find the date of this first gig anywhere on line.
Fast forward to a couple of years ago & I found myself at Hull Uni, December 2021, watching Bad Manners again, for the second time.
So somewhere around 38-39 years between seeing the artist, is my record.
One other 30 year plus mention, goes to.
Ghost Dance June 1988 - January 2023
