Some people talk about an album....

I don't know who these people are but they have a nice track by track chat about Vision Thing, often a bit technical about production and song structure etc.
Some I agree with, some I don't, but I enjoyed listening to it. Apologies if posted elsewhere.

Nice, typically only ever see album review podcast episodes about FALAA or Floodland, can't say i've listened to one that covers the entirety of Vision Thing. Excited to give this a listen, thanks for sharing!

I never realised there was a sniff (or a snort?) before Vision Thing... just listened and yes there its is.

Great podcast.

Realised that for every good song on Vision Thing that it has s**t antithesis.

Vision Thing > Dr Jeep

This was do enjoyable! To be in a room like that talking about The Sisters.
I loved the bits about Ribbons being on a soundtrack, and you can see how it could work being so atmospheric but then then I was reminded of a thing Edgar Wright said when discussing his Sparks documentary. He was saying how he'd always wanted to use Sparks on the soundtracks of previous films but the songs had too much going on and became a distraction. I think the same holds true with Ribbons. Like the guys said, it hooks you in and is as the melodrama builds. The only way I can imagine it being used is like Bowie's Hearts Filthy Lesson in Seven. Over the credits after an clever slasher flick - it could be so effective...

It was a fun listen thank you, had a few chuckles & some interesting ideas about the songs. Someone was being a bit harsh about "More" IMO ;D but fun to hear people's point of view.

The final comments about an album release, my 2 cents is AE feels whatever he puts out, its merit will be measured not on what he did in the studio that year, but on how long it's been for them to make the record and contribute to the legacy. i.e. "I expected better after taking 30 years to make it" mentality, so why bother trying ?

Look forward to hearing "Floodland" reviewed.
