Currently getting into the groove to

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

PS, belatedly realised the significance of Mr Whizzkid's Mob Rules post. It would have been Ronnie Dio's 80th birthday. Cheers brother Lee x

Black Pumas (out of Austin, TX) self-titled record. I guess we might call it psychedelic soul? Whatever it is, it's a beautiful record.

"Colors" (below) was the first thing I heard from them, and it just bowled me over right away (what a great song):

Do you remember a time when angels... do you remember a time when fear?
In the days when I was stronger, in the days when you were here?

I haven't listened to it in ages, and I'd forgotten what a good record it is. I saw her open for Soulsavers when Mark Lanegan was fronting them back in 2009 or 2010. I don't think she made another album after this one, which is a real shame given how strong this one is. No idea what happened to her.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

This glorious music / gaming crossover. Having spent many many hours in the Elder Scrolls Online land of Elsweyr, amongst the cute cats, this is perfect...

and when not watching that, I've been on a m*****n to unearth bootlegs of gigs I've seen, the weekends main treasures being Guns N' Roses at Maine Rd Manchester in 92, and The Cure in Bradford and Manchester also in 92. Sadly the GNR recording missed the best bit, namely the belting out of Vision Thing and Never Land from the PA during the wait for the nobhead to get his ass onstage. No sign of recordings of Faith No More or Soundgarden supporting either, dammit.
