NEW SONGS!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I know, it may be his another rock'n'roll mockery, but it's just looks funny from the outside.
No to mention, it would be impossible to get closer than 8ft to him, after one week of tour, if it was really one and only set.

As is the fashion on Eldritch Boulevard.

Inside and outside, On the Beach.

Played for the first time in Sydney. Sounds great.

Frantic beat. Even more so than normal.

Hmm, my tuppence-worth from a single listen:
Politics - agree the hell out of it
Guitars - nicely intense
Verses - great, really motor along
Chorus - weaker
Lyrics - some nice moments but also some surprisingly clunky ones from our favourite wordsmith
I’ll give it another go…
Chris

Just sent some mp3s to friend in Melbourne to warn her of new songs in the setlist before Sat night as I'd forgot until today.
Then saw this. FFS! Cannot keep up!

We need a better version though: I really hope one or two emerge from the later performances in Australia. We're in a precarious position with the solitary YouTube performance currently available, which is, at best, so-so

Andrew doesn't want to release the songs in the form of a record, it's ok. But did Von say in an interview why he doesn’t want to release the new songs in live version.

Oh yes, that's an old story. Which interview are you thinking of, by the way?

No, I just ask if he said somewhere that even in a live format, he never released anything ?

Well, for unclear reasons, he doesn't want to release anything. That's been the case for some time now

For anyone unaware (I suspect this is old news to most), an alternative, higher quality recording of 'On the Beach' is available on Soundcloud. That's all we're getting for now, I guess

I'm not sure that's allowed in this forum, but if you do a search on Soundcloud you should find it easily enough

Would you be referring to the version from Perth linked right here?

Yes indeed. Clearly I was wrong about whether links are allowed here

Excited to hear

Black Sail
But Genevieve
Here

at one of the Palladium show, but also... f**king hell would love to have studio versions of these plus Slept, Summer, and Crash and Burn.

There are some of the 'new' songs that I love more than the majority of the tracks on VT.

Cheers! I was around back in the day the last time they went wandering through the US, and then life got busy and I forgot about the community here until all the new songs started popping up, and the LA/Vegas shows were announced. A pleasure to be back!

Put me down for the May 23rd show for certain... going back n forth on whether I go to the show on the 15th! (between Xymox, MLWTTKK, Cruel World and Sisters all going up for sale, it's been an EXPENSIVE couple of weeks!)

I've broken free from the 80s and have been listening a lot to the new songs lately, in preparation for the UK tour and I'm beginning to love them, a lot more than I ever loved Vision Thing.
