Dominion Postcard Flexi

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Ofc I got the postcard without the spiral scratch.

Does anyone have one of these? How much of Emma does this media contain?

There were others, but this one seems most interesting to me.

If it's the size of a real postcard wouldn't the grooves be too close to the centre to be able to play?

It's a dumb idea, and a player that could manage to reach the run out groove would be tracking very badly.

if these things are technically unplayable couldnt they just be purporting to be playable? i mean, i used top have a 2" Technics keyring which purported to be a working record deck!
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I had a record player that was so sensitive you couldn't even select the final track of an album because it'd trigger the arm to lift off, you just had to listen to the track before and let it play.

And with those rare albums that end with a locked groove - it'd only ever play half of it before lifting off.

If you could disable that mechanism (or didn't have a stupidly fussy turntable) then you'd be able to play those postcards.
They'd sound like crap though, and you have the songs on proper vinyl anyway.

Verdict: Gimmick.

^^ If one assumes no effort was made to edit Emma for the format.
