A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

C3...It doesn't take a photo of the origin of the universe to make me feel small.

All it takes is my feet pattering over the same cobblestones in the Forum Romanum that Caesar, Cicero, Pompey, Catalina, Sulla, Antonius walked.

Now that makes me feel small... and I treaded those very steps this past June. I still feel small.

I spent a very long month in Rome during July/ AUgust 84. Even wrote my thesis about the Forum Romanum. Though I actually copied it out of a French tourist's guide. Ooops. There goes my (Hons)...

Soooooooo... Does anyone think there's life on other planets?
I certainly do. it's ridiculous to assume that out of a squillion planets, ours is the only inhabited one.

I hope that if Aliens DO exist, they look like this:

or this:

I hope we make contact soon. It's always been my wish to someday send my kids to Galaxy High School.

I think it is pretty unlikely that we're the only life in the Universe. However, it's a long way from saying that to believing in little grey men from Zeta Reticuli giving Randy Harelip from Pussyhump, Nebraska a rectal probe ;)

I read an interview with Arthur C Clarke where he said that he thinks that Gamma-ray bursts are the "flashes" from alien industrial accidents!

This topic is a bummer if you don't have broadband.
