Sisters spotting

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Figured someone might get a kick out of this. Stumbled on a clip of people dancing to This Corrosion on a show called Club MTV:

Seeing more than 1 person in a red tank top & stonewashed jeans dancing to the sisters amused me, I can't lie. Reminded me *slightly* of the infamous clip of NIN on Dance Party USA.

Now THAT is surreal. I imagine Von was well-chuffed with it though.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I remember Mark E Smith's consternation at visiting techno clubs in Detroit and "all the black guys with machine guns are dancing to Gary Numan"

I suppose it was scenes like this that made Von think the crossover with Public Enemy would be a big hit

Probably hardly relevant... A brief mention of the Sisters and the Mish' by John Rogers during one of his walking tours through London neighbourhoods.

I was at the Radio 4 show I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue last night in Leeds, sadly not an edition recorded for broadcast, where presenter Jack Dee introduced a round by talking about Leeds having a fine history of music producing bands such as "Soft Cell, Kaiser Chiefs, and The SIsters of Mercy".

As far as I can see I was the only person in a Sisters shirt, and along with mrs ruffers we also lowered the average age of the crowd somewhat..

Funny how a band without a release in years still comes up at an event like that.

Love it, just a shame the exuberant bloke front centre has an arm obscuring Charlie, otherwise a perfect pic. When we saw the photo we set out looking for, and finding, Ben, then got a lovely surprise  :von: :notworthy:

Yep! Spotted almost immediately. But are those really big regular glasses he‘s wearing? It seems to me like there’s something on his face.

The other one next to Eldritch (to his right) is Chris wearing an Under The Gun t-shirt?

I don't think so, he looks more likely to be the tall guy I saw wearing a blue (and grey of course ;D ) Overbombing tour shirt, dunno for sure though. Apparently Chris was posting pics of a cat at home that evening so presumably wasn't there.
