Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Figured someone might get a kick out of this. Stumbled on a clip of people dancing to This Corrosion on a show called Club MTV:
Seeing more than 1 person in a red tank top & stonewashed jeans dancing to the sisters amused me, I can't lie. Reminded me *slightly* of the infamous clip of NIN on Dance Party USA.

we forgive as we forget
Now THAT is surreal. I imagine Von was well-chuffed with it though.longtimelurker wrote: ↑04 Feb 2024, 03:53 Figured someone might get a kick out of this. Stumbled on a clip of people dancing to This Corrosion on a show called Club MTV:

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I remember Mark E Smith's consternation at visiting techno clubs in Detroit and "all the black guys with machine guns are dancing to Gary Numan"
I suppose it was scenes like this that made Von think the crossover with Public Enemy would be a big hit

'Like a disco party at the Borgias" huh?
Do you remember a time when angels... do you remember a time when fear?
In the days when I was stronger, in the days when you were here?

Probably hardly relevant... A brief mention of the Sisters and the Mish' by John Rogers during one of his walking tours through London neighbourhoods.

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.

I was at the Radio 4 show I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue last night in Leeds, sadly not an edition recorded for broadcast, where presenter Jack Dee introduced a round by talking about Leeds having a fine history of music producing bands such as "Soft Cell, Kaiser Chiefs, and The SIsters of Mercy".
As far as I can see I was the only person in a Sisters shirt, and along with mrs ruffers we also lowered the average age of the crowd somewhat..
Funny how a band without a release in years still comes up at an event like that.

Love it, just a shame the exuberant bloke front centre has an arm obscuring Charlie, otherwise a perfect pic. When we saw the photo we set out looking for, and finding, Ben, then got a lovely surprise

I don't think so, he looks more likely to be the tall guy I saw wearing a blue (and grey of course ) Overbombing tour shirt, dunno for sure though. Apparently Chris was posting pics of a cat at home that evening so presumably wasn't there.
