Nice, thank !
The Cure
If you would have to compare to it another The Cure album, what would it be?

I'm going in the love child of Faith & Disintegration direction I think.
There's absolutely zero pop on it & the songs are monumental
Oh darn, you make the wait even harder. lol.

Listening at the moment, and I'm up to Warsong. Umm, wow.
There's definitely a sense of heaviness to it, and I can only imagine it's just going to get heavier. It's very world-weary, very questioning-what-it's-all-about, and very very beautiful.
I don't think it's an LP I'd listen to in a single sitting again, though. Even Faith and Pornography had their moments of light and shade, but this is the full undiluted dose. That's not a criticism, it just is what it is.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Halfway through my second listen and it's a dense, heavy listen. It's not one to give up its treasures easily. But there are some strong melodies buried deep in it that I can imagine will become more apparent in subsequent listens.
Really liking it so far. Worth a 16 year wait? Not sure. But I'm happy it's finally arrived.
Mr Smith has said that there's a lot of newly recorded material that he'd like to put out so maybe a companion album at some point next year?

The new album is very good. It sounds a lot like their 80's stuff.

Am loving the album especially the double whammy of Warsong/Drone & developing a healthy obsession with All i ever Am. Gave the white vinyl a first spin last night & it sounds lush, Robert’s voice absolutely soaring.

Well yes I do disagree but that's not to say your impressions aren't valid to youNikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote: ↑14 Nov 2024, 19:17 Here’s my two penn’orth. I suspect @Pista will disagree strongly! https://gothpostpunkrevival.blogspot.c ... sight.html
