Fields of the Nephilim will also be appearing at Tomorrow's Ghost Festival Whitby in 2025..... after a long wait.
Hopefully some euro dates will follow.

The extra tracks are underwhelming, I have the original cd and I'll buy the reissue but not interested in getting it on vinyl . Good news about potencial new gigs though.

There used to be Dawnrazor... it was 'active" last year but since then it seems to have closed down. Shame.
Incidentally I'm looking for bootlegs from more recent shows. Anybody any info and I'd be very gratefull.

I believe Subsanity from Fallen is also a Nefilim out-take.
There are also demos of some of the album tracks in the wild which include alternate takes: Chaos, Sensorium and a very metal Zoon. There is the unreleased track Red 777 too.

The Zoon remaster sounds fantastic. I've been listening to it on my commute since it came out. Xodus sounds like what I assume a heart attack feels like. It is relentless, and the bass just pounds in my chest at high volume. Glorious.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to pick this up. My original cd has always been on the quiet side.sultan2075 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2024, 16:51 The Zoon remaster sounds fantastic. Is this actually remastered? Is Penetration incomplete as per the OG CD?
I can see the files on a p2p network and they are the same size as the originals.
It would be unlikely that the album gets a remaster and is not brickwalled; said process would increase their file size noticeably . So I am inclined to believe these are original masters.
I'll download Penetration and the 12" bsides and compare.
Edit: Penetration is complete as per the original vinyl release. Nice.
The digital release is not brickwalled and I suspect the release is not remastered. No mention is made of this on the Beggars Arkive site either.

For what it's worth, it sounds vastly better to my ears than the old version; vocals seem more prominent, for instance, and there seems to be a more pronounced bottom-end, but maybe that's just my car. Apple Music claims it is remastered - it's titled Zoon [Expanded Edition] but every track has the words "(2024 Remaster)" added to the title.Gaijin wrote: ↑18 Dec 2024, 13:16 Is this actually remastered? I finally got around to a comparison. I dropped Shine into a wave editor and both CD pressings are identical.
This is good news for those that don't own the original media.

I have the gold reissue but not the original 2x45. The reissue includes Shiva and the Psychonaut tracks, so they're clearly different sources.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
