thank you all sweet kind people!
i actually through a party (which i never do as most people are on their xmas holidays) and gave it the colour theme of purple and silver. had a party tent set up outside with a heater obviously didn't want anyone freezing to death. decorations in purple and zilver were fun hanging up and one of my very good friends did catering for me so there was a warm meal. saved costs by buying booze in Germany as the difference in price compared to here is quite sickening. friends we hadn't seen in years came which was wonderful catching up.

so that happened. will wait if by the grace of the universe i am granted the time to throw another birthday party in ten years time :wink:
