Politics? Nah

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I sincerely hope that countries with upcoming elections, such as Germany and Canada, can learn from the US experience and make wise choices as to whom NOT to elect. Mildly put, a disaster has been unfolding here in the US. Trump's team led by Musk has been going around Washington and terrorizing people, while Musk is not speaking at the far right-wing party rallies in Germany, that is. They have been cruelly firing those who are referred to as "worthless bureaucrats" in the far right-wing media circles, and I would refer to them as dedicated civil servants who chose public service over lucrative careers. We have had in-person conversations with one of these dedicated scientist friends about their 100% apolitical job, because they are afraid to speak on the phone since Musk's team has been by their office installing "software" on their computers. US AID, you know, the agency that is being illegally destroyed, has been providing essential food and medical services throughout the world. One of these workers who has spent her career working in Africa for non-profits receiving US AID funding is so upset because she knows how many lives people will lose because of this. What people seem to fail to understand is that Musk is not just ending some random agency, he is ending lives. To add insult to injury, these dedicated and selfless workers have been referred to as terrorists by Musk (just guessing here, maybe because of the US AID role in fighting apartheid in South Africa?). Locally, communities in the Washington, DC region are hurting, because families with two federal workers are trying to figure out what to do. But if this is not stopped, and I have no idea who would stop this because the Congress is completely unwilling to provide any checks on the executive branch, things will get worse everywhere.
