Favourite Sisters Lyrics

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I'm sure this must have been a topic before but I thought I'd do it anyway.

"I'm lying on my back now, the stars look all too near, flowers on the razor wire, I know your here..."
Is THEEEE lyric as far as I'm concerned. 8)

U fine peeps?

"I'm lost for stupid again" is my all time favourite line. I'd love to know who wrote it.

"Go there now, but I hear they sung
Their etc etc"

Very relevant when my first marriage fizzled out ...
Loki was never worshiped as the other Gods,
Which is quite understandable.

"Forget the many steps to heaven" is pretty cool - i like the feel of it and the insinuation - same with a lot of the words from the last bit of "under the gun" 8)

"Set the controls for the heart or the knees" etc etc etc ;)

also, "Another shade of empty" from Summer 8)

and i love the feel of "Seconds to the drop but it feels like hours" - it carries so many emotions and implications. very evocative.

and there's "For a million empty faces, for a million hollow smiles"

not forgetting "See the wreckage and the damage done"

christ, there's so many  :notworthy:

And I've heard so many thinigs, I
Fail to understand at all
I'd settle anytime for
Unknown footsteps in the hall outside.

SKOS: "When bodies meet. When fingers touch"

Very powerful couplet.

Well isn't that what friends are for?'

'I don't need no-one to understand...'

'Too much but never enough
Tear it up and watch it fall'

But she looked good in ribbons'

And so many more
