Bands Reunited

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Has anyone seen that spiffy new programme on VH1, Bands Reunited?
It's about this chirpy Yank who travels round the world tracking down former members of 80s Bands, then persuading them to reunite for a one-off gig.

It's actually much, much more entertaining than it sounds (The Frankie goes to Hollywood one is hilarious! and rather beautiful, too - Some members of Frankie hadn't spoken in 17 years, the reunion was genuinely touching) I don't know If it's being shown worldwide, but here in Blighty it's on tonight, back to back:

7:00 - Kajagoogoo
8:00 - Flock of Seagulls
9:00 - Frankie goes to Hollywood
10:00 - Kajagoogoo (again??! Bloody VH1!)
11:00 - Squeeze
12:00 - Berlin

I live in Hope that they'll do a Sisters one. I very much doubt they'll be able to persuade Von, Gazza, Craig and Ben to enter the same room together.
I'm dying to know if Ben Gunn is bald...

Yes I have seen the episodes for Flock of Seagulls and The Alarm.

It's actually pretty good. And I agree the reunions are rather touching.

VH1, eh? Would this be this new-fangled stattelite behaviour? I'm afraid that I shall not watch anything other than the BBC.

Or Channel 4.

Or videos.

Or DVDs.

I'll get me coat.

Well if anyone here has an insight to what Mr Marx might be up to it
has to be our very own Quiff Boy. :notworthy: ;D

Just put those subliminal flash animations in the GD site coding:

"Bands Reunited" is great! It aired here in the States a few months ago. I was pissed off with the Frankie Goes To Hollywood episode and I liked the Flock Of Seagulls episode more than I thought I would.

I almost forgot! A new season is supposed to air in the summer. There was a poll on VH1's website asking who should reunited. The majority of the votes went to the Thompson Twins. I'd love to see that one! :D

The Thompson twins???!
I mean, they were a perfectly good band and all, but how on earth did they win the poll?
Who else was in the poll? Classix Nouvaex? Department S? Vapours?

This was the choice. It's obvious why Thompson Twins comes out first.

Isn't the woman Thompson Twin dead? I just have this feeling of having read about this about 6 years ago.

I'd like to see:
The Glitter Band
Bauhaus
The m*****n
British Rail
The Icicle Works
