A walk outside. Blossom stipples the branches of trees out back. A high grey fug turns steadily bluer as the temperature rises. It will be a successful week, a healthy week, a happy week upon which to reflect and from which to move onwards.

You feel 5-10 years younger, fitter than for years. Everything seems possible. You wonder why you're tied down to a relationship. You've got your job and a place of your own. Why not have it to yourself? Bring younger birds home for one thing only. When it suits. 10 hours' kip a night otherwise. Stay in and read or listen to music. Work out without asking permission. Catch up on work. Save all the cash for Number One. Plan an early exit after a glitteringly single-minded career. Kids? Pah. Shagging, spending and having a laugh.
